Marco & Remco 23rd May 2020

Marco: For my first trip to Australia in September 2008, a working holiday lasting for 5 months, Steve Millard arranged my flight ticket from London to Melbourne. That was a lot cheaper as departing from Amsterdam, normally more regular for a Dutchman from Assen. Born in 1979 I saw Steve every year several times as his came to Assen for the races and visiting my parents too. In 2013 Steve visited me at the London Gateway Port project (river Thames) were I was working a few months for a dredging company and stayed in an hotel in Basildon. He always was interested in my job as an operator of big machines and the locations all over the world my job in the dredging and offshore business brings me. The times being at home during the Dutch TT, the Dutch WSBK Round or the Iceracing Finals at Assen we enjoyed a pint and had fun. I will miss Steve and his sense of humour. Remco: Being Marco’s younger brother a lot of what is written above applies to me too. However I do have another profession having a job in the financial administration. During the Dutch TT, Dutch WSBK and Iceracing Finals I was meeting Steve more often as Marco cannot attend every time these meetings because of his work. Moreover I act as an official during these events. So during or after the events there was always time for a moment with Steve. I remember my first visit to Brands Hatch with my parents and Marco, some 30 years ago, when Steve and Reg (Steve”s partner at Tee-Mill Tours) guided us through the paddock.
